AUTUMN 2023

Hello everyone, September is upon us and with it the autumn season of LLHG meetings, starting on Thursday 21 September with Dr. Mike Winstanley speaking on "A Somewhat Noisy Tavern and Tea Garden – Debtors in Lancaster Castle."

Our June outdoor meeting at Backbarrow Iron Works was abortive - an accident on the A590 blocked that road and in consequence jammed all alternative routes for people east of Lindale. We intend to reschedule it for 2024. In view of the June failure we had a "bonus" meeting in July in the form of a walk round medieval Ulverston guided by Dan Ellsworth of Green Lane Archaeology
